As per the reports of New York Post, the lead actor of the much-loved movie Joker, Joaquin Phoenix responds to claims that Joker movieis casting negative effects on the deprived section of the society and also encouraging them to indulge into criminal activities.

During a chat with the reporters of Vanity Fair, the 44-year-old actor stated that he hadn’t thought that the movie would release and have a smooth run in the theaters. According to the reports, the NYPD will be guarding some of the theaters during the film’s run.

The actor tags the film as ‘difficult’ and in spite of the controversies around it, he is quite happy that the film has been able to cast a strong and emotional impact on the audience. This statement was made by him two weeks after the US Army reportedly stated that the movie might embolden people to go on the wrong path.

While talking to Vanity Fair, Joaquin stated that he had to portray the character in a sympathizing way. He also added that for people it is pretty easy to criticize others and tag them as evils.

According to him, it makes us feel good if we can tag someone else as an evil person. The actor also stated than it was important for the audience to delve into the villainous character so that they could understand human psychology.

The director of the film, Todd Philips remarked that the movie cannot be accused of pushing the US culture into danger.

He added that they made a movie based on a fictional world and it was completely up to the audience’s reaction to the character.

The director also stated that the movie was a reflection of modern society and it wasn’t made to incite people in the wrong way.
