Emma Watson chose herself to call “self-partnered” instead of defining her as a ‘single’. The 29-year-old award-winning actress is facing social pressure to find her true love at this age. But she told in an interview with British Vogue that she finally is in a place where she treats herself right and patronizing self-acceptance.

Though she has been single all this long still she never really believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ but she is actually happy with just herself which she thinks is slightly different from being just ‘single’.

Almost turning 30, this outstanding actress has a history of anxiety battle in the past and has been told to be partnered up. In this respect, she said that she is really happy like this if that is what we call being single.

The Harry Potter star said that she would like to call it being self-partnered to the British Vogue published Tuesday. Watson opened up to Vogue about her struggle with anxiety due to an “influx of subliminal messaging.”

She was quite taken aback when everyone started making a fuss about her turning 30 with no stable career, partner or baby and she finds herself to be anxious again. She realizes that she is feeling so stressed out because of this sudden influx of subliminal messaging around.

According to the society, if you do not build a home with a husband and baby while you are turning 30, then you are not in a good place in your life without any security and stability; which is imparts depression and anxiety in her world but she is very happy with herself that she decided not to call herself single anymore, rather self-partnered.

Watson’s remarks initiated debate online, which getting viral for discussing the term “self-partnered.”  Many of her followers appreciated what she said about self-acceptance and self-love yet some have stigmatized her comments on her life mantra.

For Watson, being happy and single while turning 30 is not just a mindset but it is her choice. Dating men is not high on her priority list.

Many people after this interview took to social media to present their conception of “self-partnered.”  Her followers are happy with what she came out with, showing a new philosophy and mindset that does not need social conformation and thanked her for coining such an empowering phrase. Many women who are near their 30s or in 30s are applauding her for highlighting such issues and anxiety struggles. Also, the phrase is now getting hyped on all social media, thanks to her for coining such a strong word.

Emma Watson is not just a tremendous Hollywood actress but also a leading women’s rights activist and a goodwill ambassador for UN Women, championing the HeForShe campaign, which enthuses men to advocate for gender equality. She is a philanthropist.

She shared her own experiences of sexism that she suffered since she was only 8. Even in her adulthood, she fell as a victim of sexism by the media when she was getting towards the pinnacle of her dreams through acting in a famous movie series Harry Potter.
