It has been just announced by EA sports that they have plans to close down the servers for the Round 4 of fight night, which got a release in 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 slated to happen next year in March.
In an update which came in an email, it has been told to the players by EA sports that they have shut down the servers because of the players base of the game, which will gradually diminish to almost nothing as can be expected for a boxing game of the last generation which was released about a decade ago. A full statement was given by EA where they gave out the reasons for pulling out of the servers for round 4 of the fight night.
At that time, no one knew about it. It was the penultimate boxing game of EA Sports and that was nothing but the Fight night round 4. Only one other game was released by the franchise after the year 2009. In the statement that was given, nothing was said by EA about the online servers for the champion of Fight night, which got a release in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PS3. This is a bit surprising because the game is likely to have a player base which is dwindling.
From the year 2011, EA has been asked by fans to make a boxing game other than this, but they faced a lot of issues which created quite a lot of hindrance. But in the past few months, reports came out which suggested that EA is planning to bring back the franchise.
As of now, the only sports franchise that is thriving which EA has got is the Madden NFL series. Although the UFC games are their own, they are not regarded very well and fans would be happier if the MMA based game is replaced by the developers with the return of the franchise Fight Night.
Pro-boxing had a great year in 2019, so this happens to be the perfect time to bring back fight Night by EA. So we are looking forward to seeing how the company fares in 2020 but it would make most of them happy if the franchise for NBA Live is completely abandoned in favor of making an all-new boxing game.
Nothing has been announced officially yet, there is all likelihood that a new boxing game can be seen by the fans once we head towards 2020 into the next generation.
