One of the better ones among the figures of lore, Dr. Liao, has been shown to have got the mind that goes behind the making of Echo and in several ways, it could also possibly be the mind that goes into the making of Echo.
The responsibility to create the Omnics goes hand in hand with Liao, as these are extremely intelligent robots that are essentially the borders on the sentience. One can recognize her fellow support as an Omnic by Zenyatta along with Bastion also. More often than not, the case is such that when there is a construction of a series of extremely indigenous and intelligent robots which ended in a war between the robots and the enemy and has led to the formation of Overwatch in its entirety.
We can see that Morrison, who was very much supposed to be a soldier later as the person we known as Solider: 76, made an attempt to convince Liao so that he joins Overwatch to fight against the Omnics in the battle. She also added that she has got the perfect mind so that she could fight against her menace created by her only. For that purpose, one more robot has been created by her to help people which is her magnum opus called Echo.
Echo happens to be one of Liao’s extension and while there is not very much that can blow up from the teaser which is almost a minute long it may seem that it is safe to assume the fact that the creation of Liao is pretty much more than the other Omnic. Echo has been dedicated to help and serve the world and hold on to the same dream that has been thought out by the creator.
Speaking about Lorewise, we know a lot of things about Echo beyond the identity of being the creator only. It has been confirmed by her to be one of the precious payloads on the map of Route 66 although players are unable to see her. She has been saved from the Deadlock Gang by McCree canonically that has prompted her to reactivate and told her that it is needful for her to respond to the Overwatch recall where you get to see the scene in ‘Reunion’ that is an animated short.
Echo is going to be the 32nd playable hero who will be coming from Overwatch and it may seem that she is going to be the most crucial and important as we move on with the lore of the games. We do not have any information about the exact release date and we also know that Blizzard does possess the habit of moving swiftly but one has to be very much prepared to see the legacy of Liao in action and that too very soon.
