Players who were online suffered from a bit of disruption from the servers after Blizzard Servers Suffer Difficulties After A Minor DDoS Attack. The one that got particularly affected was the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. Although the disruption is said to be minor, it was however more than enough to create problems for the community and also the servers as a whole.

Meanwhile, the players who were online at the moment might have got disconnected from the servers, which in turn can prove extremely frustrating and relatively catastrophic depending on what were they doing. If someone wasn’t busy doing anything serious or major, it might likely have got signed out and back in.

However, if someone was unfortunate enough to be mid-raid or running a timed Mythic+ dungeon, which certainly many players must have been doing at that moment with the weekly reset scheduled to be occurring today, then the disruption must have proven much more drastic and severe to them.

It was quite swift on Blizzard’s part to announce the disruption as a DDoS attack rather than stating it as some sort of issue with the servers that had occurred naturally. It was during this particular time that the communication was disrupted and many char forms like Battle.net, guild chat, and the likes were unavailable.

It was quite fortunate on everything back under control rather quickly. It was little more than an hour after the attack occurred and was being announced that Blizzard stated that the issues have been taken under control, and had been resolved as mentioned in the tweet.

As per the latest updates, no one has as of now come forward to claim any sort of responsibility for the DDoS attack, and therefore it is unlikely that it had anything to do with the current events. Those who were still able to talk during the attack were quick to wonder whether or not all of this has been politically inspired.

The particular reason behind this thought seems to center around Blizzard's recent statement that spoke in favor of the Black Lives Matter movement and other protests that are currently sweeping through the streets of the United States. But given that no one has taken any sort of responsibility for the attack, there is no confirmation or proof of this, and the situation remains strictly under speculation.

Moreover, this certainly isn’t the first time that Blizzard has suffered a DDoS attack that has further led the fans to wonder as to why the developers aren’t able to properly defend themselves. With such attacks making a comeback quite frequently the players are disrupted obnoxiously at an alarming rate.

But whatever it is, the attack was brought under control fast enough assuming that Blizzard was successful in completely suppressing it. Moreover, it is difficult to conclude from the outside looking if Blizzard had stopped the attack or the ones who are behind the DDoS attack have simply stopped it themselves.

Now with the login and communication issues resolved, the players are finally able to go about their lives as they wish to until the next DDoS attack comes hoping in. Hopefully, Blizzard might be able to figure out a way to put an end to all these attacks before they happen rather than being forced to react.
