As per recent updates, it is likely that The Academy has planned to host its upcoming Oscars event before a live audience. According to news reports, the award show will be held on April 25, 2021.

It certainly feels that the Oscars, the biggest night in Hollywood is gradually getting back on track.

A source associated with the ABC and the Academy has revealed to Variety that the prestigious award ceremony for next year is not going to be virtual like this year owing to the pandemic. The insider said that they are confirming the news.

Previously, the Academy announced that they are pushing back the dates by about two months to April, 25. They believed that this delay would lead to many more films to compete before the deadline.

Currently, movie theatres are closed across most parts of the country and it is unlikely that they are going to start functioning fully by April 2021. However, the insider said that they will not be delaying the event any further. It is to be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which seats 3,400 people.

Variety has also said that the Academy is yet to figure out the details involving seating and audience capacity. ​

Irrespective of how things were for change, the upcoming event will definitely have a new essence to it. The Golden Globes ceremony was also delayed to February 28, Sunday with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from The Beverly Hilton as per the event’s website.

This year’s award ceremonies were designed with a blend of pre-taped and live moments. This year’s Emmys also included footage of winners accepting their awards from the capacity of their homes. Emmys host Jimmy Kimmel ran the show from the audience-free Staples Center.

The host for the 2021 Oscars is yet to be announced. It is also under doubt that this year’s Academy might not follow its recent trend of not choosing an official emcee.

Trevor Noah is going to host the 2021 Grammys hat will air on CBS on Sunday, Jan. 31, although the exact logistics of that event are unclear.

During such confusing times, 2020 made sure to remember some of the most remarkable memories of the previous year. Parasite was the big winner in the 2020 Oscars winning in four categories including Best Picture. Some of the other winners included Renée Zellweger (Judy), Laura Dern (Marriage Story), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), and Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

As the number of Covid-19 cases continues to rise in many parts of the country, Los Angeles County instituted new stay-at-home restrictions on Monday, Nov. 30, putting additional limits on businesses and social gatherings.

However, it is expected that things will turn for the better in the next year if and only if people maintain all protocols of safety and social distancing.

With Hollywood’s award season knocking on the doors, the audience and the fans are only waiting with excitement and anticipation.
