Actor Tracy Morgan will be playing the role of Louise Armstrong in an upcoming self-financed biopic about the iconic jazz musician’s life.

The news came from Jermaine Fowler who said that his co-star Morgan is filming on the new project during the promotion of the new film, Coming 2 America.

He also responded to the question of whether Morgan is an underrated actor owing to his eccentric roles. He said that he wants to see him in a dramatic role and according to one of the clips that he has seen, it looks promising. He strongly believes his co-star can fill the shoes of one of the pioneers of jazz.

Fowler also added that she looks and sounds a lot like him. He believes if Tracy can pull it off, it will be one of the greater achievements of his career.

Morgan will be seen playing Fowler’s uncle in the new sequel of the 1988 film Coming To America. He is known for his roles in the series 30 Rock and films such as Death At A Funeral and The Longest Yard among many others.

Morgan had previously confessed to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show that he would love to star in a movie about Louis Armstrong. But it was only until recently that it has been confirmed that Morgan will be playing the lead as the jazz maestro in the upcoming self-financed film.

In the other interview, Fowler expressed his admiration for his co-star Morgan. He shared that he has been a fan since his Martin days. According to him, Morgan takes small cameos to another level of captivation like Kevin Hart’s role in the film, 40-Year-Old Virgin. Fowler said that Tracy’s cameo in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back always cracks him up.

In other news, Rick Ross has bagged a spot in association with cinema for the first time in his career. The rapper revealed that his real home in Georgia is actually the Zamundan palace in Tracy’s new movie, Coming 2 America.
