The singer has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Jamie Lynn threatening to sue her if she continues to use any derogatory term against Britney.
Britney’s lawyer Matthew Rosengart claimed that the memoir ‘ill-timed’ and contains outrageous claims against Britney. The lawyer has also warned in the letter that, “Publicly airing false or fantastical grievances is wrong, especially when designed to sell books. It is also potentially unlawful and defamatory,”
It was also written in the letter that, “You recently reportedly stated that the book was ‘not about her.’ She takes you at your word and we, therefore, demand that you cease and desist from referencing Britney derogatorily during your promotional campaign.”
Rosengart further stated, “If you fail to do so or defame her, Britney will be forced to consider and take all appropriate legal action.”
Jamie Lynn’s latest book ‘Things I Should Have Said’ is showing the mixed direction towards Britney. While promoting her new book, Jamie participated in many interviews and her sister's personal life to get the spotlight. She even spoke about the recent incidents to end her conservatorship.
Last week, in an interview, Jamie has described that she is the “biggest supporter” of Britney’s conservatorship. But at the same time, Jamie has explained her sister as “erratic” and “paranoid” in her recent book.
The sisters have been gaining on social media wars since the GMA interview and now it is getting even more serious as Britney chose to stand up.
In a recent tweet, Britney said, “I know you worked hard for the life you have and you have done amazing !!!!! But I think that we would both have to agree to the fact that the family has never been remotely as hard on you as they have been on me !!!”
Later on, the artists also explained, “We are supposed to have each other’s back…but what you’re saying just truly confuses me!!! All I know is I love you unconditionally !!! So go ahead and say whatever you want…it’s so tacky for a family to fight publicly like this!!!”
