THQ Nordic has recently stated that creator Volition is working on a new game in the Saints Row Franchise. This will be the first full Saint’s Row game since 2013. The storyline is not yet confirmed as to whether the new game will see a continuation of the previous four entries or will dwell in an entirely new plot.
Saints Row is about a street gang called the 3rd Street Saints, rising to power in the cities of Stilwater and Steelport. After the release of Saint Row 2, the series gained its own identity by including humor and extreme gameplay. The 3rd part took a distinct turn and sees the gang drifting to a new city after attaining celebrity status.
The entire game play may seem to be a high-end urban world game but in its core the game is all about fighting against your opponents, capturing their territory and few other twists. Saints Row differ a tad bit by allowing the player to create their character to lead the plot.
THQ Nordic Confirms that another Saints Row Game is in order since the last Saints Row IV release back in 2013 was received with mixed reactions. The series has however made a notable comeback with the release of Saints Row: The Third which includes the much-beloved DLC that has been released for the game.
Volition needs to deliver a series that would bring them to the track, after the failure of, Agents of Mayhem. The in-development series stands as a huge threat to other rivaling games like Grand Theft Auto. However, no details have been leaked about the release date, but with Gamescom available on the forum people will get to hear further updates about the project in the coming weeks.
