According to the interview taken by Men’s Health, the showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich gave a proper explanation behind her decision to take Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia. While she was writing for the show, she constantly could hear the actor’s voice back in her mind and that was the cue for her to picture him in the lead role of the much-awaited upcoming show The Witcher. She thinks she made the right choice by that. Lauren S. Hissrich, the showrunner found many similarities between the real and reel characters of the actor and fictional characters. She needed someone who could see all the trauma of the world yet is strong and roll eyes with a sanctimonious look on his face. Cavill is in real life, truly bold and fearsome with a dry wit that adds extra shade to his character.
Netflix team even declared that they had already begun the work and shooing for the next season indicating that the first season of The Witcher will do well.
Netflix team recently unfolded the names of eight episodes of season one of The Witcher. These are: The End’s Beginning: “A monster slain, a butcher named.”

Before a Fall: “A return to before a kingdom is flamed.”
Much More: “The Witcher Family as you all like to say.”
It is still not utterly clear whether it will stick to eight episodes or it may increase its number of episodes. If two seasons of the show become blockbuster then the showrunner is willing to make this saga continue till its seventh season.
