O’Plerou Denis Grebet, an Ivorian artist, was looking for a few sample images of Africa for one of his projects there he found the images of penury and ill health.

He saw that most of the contents of the web are showcasing the gloomy and pessimistic sight of the continent. He noticed most of the images representing the people who are deprived of food and nourishment. He admits that these are true to a certain extent but it’s not happening overall the continent there is some shining side too.

These photos, he said, irritated him very much and that may be the reason he started to generate ideas to show some of the ravishing pictures of this beautiful continent.

This simple flick of idea has engaged Grebret to design 350 plus free emojis in two years, this emoji reflects the charm African culture carries.

The urge to make emojis instigated Grebret in September 2017 and he learned the process through a Youtube Tutorial.

He said it was easier for him as he already knew about drawing he just transferred his skills to the computer.

The first emoji he created is of an Ivorian meal call Foutou made from flour and plants.

The rich African history and modern-day African life inspire him to design and décor his emojis.

Grebret is just 22 but already spotted a mark with his artistic creations, since his childhood he is very much passionate about drawing.  If you are looking for a loan, you should read the tips to Get instant loan 2020.

But it was 2017 since when he started justifying his artistic conceptions.

In 2018, with a skilled knowledge about photoshop, Grebret started to create and publicize a fresh Africa related emoji on Instagram. He knew that his new venture will become a hit when he saw 2000 new followers on within the very beginning of the project.

His emojis varies in wide-range and each is different by their form and style it includes the three-legged pot which used to make a regional South African food item call Potjiekos and a fried delicacy of the Ivory coast called Crece.

Grebret was not just satisfied in making these African emojis, he wanted people to relate these emojis during their conversation in social media chats like Whatsapp and Twitter. Thus, by December 2018 he created a total of 365 emojis and all these he incorporated in his app call ‘Zouzoukwa’.

He felt the app was necessary as he looked forward to seeing people using his emojis in their conversations and they are enriched with proper stickers that meet their needs.

With its initial release, Zouzoukwa has been a prolific hit on Google Play and the Apple app store. Records are proof that more than 120,000 times it has been downloaded.

In 2019, Zouzoukwa has been nominated in the category of the best app of 2019 by African Talents Awards, which encouraged this young energetic African talent.

Grebret is happy with this wins but naturally he is looking for more as he has certain plans of creating designed phone covers, bags, and clothing of this theme.

He wants to travel all over the continent to gain more inspiration.

He will certainly look for ways to pay more tribute to the African Culture.
