According to Sports news, Houston Dynamo defeats D.C. United in one of the most interesting matches of the day in MLS. Dynamo managed to make a comeback from behind and to stay alive in the competition for the top spot of the Western Conference. It is a huge win for Wilmer Cabrera’s guys who had a two-game winless skid prior to tonight’s game.

For the first 45 minutes, nothing significant was brought into notice on the field of BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. The teams were pretty careful and didn’t want to commit any mistake which could push them into difficulties.

Such Conservative approaches from the teams resulted in just one shot on goal, and very dull performance.

But, from the very beginning of the second half, the guests struck. D.C. scored within a minute, after the referee Vasquez signaled the kick-off. Guests’ players stole the ball at the midfield, and the entire action ended with Wayne Rooney netting. The English striker followedUlises Segura’s attack and swiftly reached his low cross on Houston goal’s far post. He didn’t get to face any difficulties in putting the ball into the open net.

This goal marked Rooney’s seventh goal of the season.

But the hosts made a comeback and that too with some style. It was a quick one-two punch which knocked-out United in just two minutes.

At first, Memo Rodriguez showed his amazing striking skills, by scoring an awesome goal. The 23-year-old player cut from the left wing into the middle, avoiding two defenders and sent a perfect shot into the right corner of Bill Hamid’s net.

About a minute later, an eruption of joy in the stands,, Tommy  McNamara turned things around and the results as well. Adam Lundkvist sent a cross from the left, one of the players of Dynamo scratched the ball in the area of the goalkeeper, and it reached just in front of McNamara, standing at the far post.

D.C. couldn’t come out of this, and they only lost Paul Arriola five minutes before the end due to a red card. United heads back the East to meet with the Revolution on the road. The game is scheduled for the next Saturday.

Meanwhile, Houston will be facing Minnesota United in Minneapolis on the same day.
