To everyone’s surprise at the EPL derby of the day, Manchester City humiliates Liverpool, 4-0The outcome of the game was not at all expected, and it did surprise millions of fans across the world.

Fans were expecting to watch a high-scoring encounter between the two big names, but it was pretty certain that not many believed that Man City would humiliate the champions is this way.

It is by far the most shameful loss of this year for the champions, and this humiliating defeat came at the moment when the team had secured the title and just needed to confirm the title by winning against their biggest rivals. However, due to the result of this high-voltage game, there is a certainty that there will be many who would dispute the success obtained by the Reds.

The player who caused serious problems to the guests was the team’s former player, Raheem Sterling. During the game night, he scored one goal, and helped in setting up two more, and was absolutely unstoppable for the backline of Liverpool. The domination of Sterling was so big that Jurgen Klopp had to replace Joe Gomez after he failed to resist the winger of Man City.

The first goal of the game was scored after Sterling was brought down in the box by Gomez, to which the referee awarded a penalty to the home team. And, as usual, Kevin de Bruyne had no trouble in converting the penalty into a goal.

Shortly after the first goal, Raheem himself scored a goal, and then assisted Phil Foden in scoring another goal, just before the halftime. Another goal was an own score made by Oxlade-Chamberlain.

This was certainly a night worth forgetting for Liverpool, who was crowned after the loss of Man City against Chelsea on the road, 2-1, in the last week’s game. Before the start of the game, the players of the hosts welcomed the guests and provided them with a guard of honor. But, this appeared to just another motive for the guys of Guardiola.

There is no doubt to the fact that this win would be a huge boost for the players of Man City, as they have to face more challenges in the coming days. At first, they will be playing in the semifinals of the FA Cup against Arsenal in two weeks, and after that, they will be competing against Champions League obligations. This is scheduled to start in August, with this note that Man City has to battle it out with Real Madrid in the upcoming rematch. The first game between the two had ended 1-2 at Bernabeu, reflecting the fact that the Sky-Blues have a great chance of advancing themselves to the semifinals.

On the other hand, Liverpool only has to play the rest of the games of the EPL campaign.
