The born-talented musician has been involved with music from her childhood days. She used to play piano for hours in her grandmother’s house. Without any conventional lessons, she learned to read and play music just by hearing it. She also started writing music around that time. Her father played an important role in her songwriting. He helped her acquire her first synthesizer, a Roland JX-8P, at the age of 11. He stayed by her side in every step of her musical career until his passing in 2012. She says, ‘He was always my biggest fan. He’s still with me in spirit.’


Karen Nussbaumer is deeply influenced by the 70s and 80s, and 90s, and the works of talented and powerful female musicians like Whitney, Mariah, Cher, Bette, Jewel, Dolly, Etta, Roberta, Aretha, Queen Latifah and Celine to name a few.
