The pandemic due to the outbreak of COVID-19 has cast an impact on all industries and the gaming industry is no exception. Due to this, so many esports events have been canceled or delayed, many conferences are now being conducted online, and the development teams are working from home.

The news of one of the biggest cancelations has come out as Bethesda announces that they won't be holding a replacement for their canceled E3 presentation. This was inarguably one of the biggest gaming events of the year, with so many fans and dedicated developers across the world looking forward to it.

And, due to this cancelation, many companies have moved online. Nintendo switched to Nintendo Direct Mini, GDC 2020 conducted their conference online and has also planned to hold a smaller event in the summer, and many more.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that Bethesda has any intentions of doing the same. And, it seems that the pandemic has hit the company hard and won’t be conducting an online replacement of their E3 presentation.

Hines, the Senior Vice President of Bethesda’s Global Marketing and Communications took to twitter to break out the news, ‘Given the many challenges we’re facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital Showcase in June. We have lots of exciting things to share about our games and look forward to telling you more in the coming months.’

The release of the highly-anticipated brutality-fueled demonic slaughter-fest, Doom Eternal, made Bethesda very popular among the fans. This title has helped them gain much-needed positivity from their fans, many of whom were looking to give up on the renowned publisher/developer, due to the failure of Fallout 76.

However, it is pretty interesting and shocking to see that the developers aren’t taking any measurements. Most of their competitors have moved online to entertain the fans about their progress, be it by providing them with some good news or building the hype to compensate for some financial losses due to the pandemic.

Recently, Bethesda also announced the cancelation of Quakecon2020, which was supposed to be a special event, as it was the 25th anniversary of the legendary classic. With so many cancelations and postpones coming up, it is surprising to see that Bethesda hasn’t even dedicated a team for the creation of a short announcement to keep the fans updated.
