A new report intimates that the Last of Us sequel II just got leaked and rumors say that hackers could be the ones who have infiltrated. The Last Of Us Sequel Leaks Were Likely Caused By Hackers; As Footage Could Be From An Early Build, Jason Schreier.
It is being said that the hackers have reportedly taken advantage of a security vulnerability to gain access to the developer’s servers. As per the Jason Schrier Bloomberg News report the hackers have somehow managed to crack open the server vulnerability and got access to the central servers.
Further, the leaked footage comes from one of the developer’s early build that had already been deployed and was being tested by the developers. As a result, there could be some differences from the final game mainly given the current plight of Naughty Game’s Studio.
Developers said that after they have spoken to two people who have the direct knowledge of how TLOU2 got leaked and also some Naughty Dog employees, they now have a clear idea of what has actually happened. Cutting big story small, the hackers have somehow managed to find a security vulnerability in a patch for an older ND game and have used it to get access to the ND’s servers.
They also added that the footage that got leaked is from developers playing an early build, which they themselves haven’t watched yet. And, most importantly, the rumor of this being an act of protest by a contractor whose pay has been robbed is not at all valid. As it goes that ND has extended pay and other health care benefits for contractors due to COVID.
Once the leaked footage slowly started circulating on the internet, Naughty Dog took no time to announce that The Last of Us Sequel II is scheduled to be released on June 19th. As a result of which the Ghost of Tsushima has also got delayed by a few weeks so that means it won’t be releasing on June 17th again.
Given the current pandemic situation, The Last of Us Sequel II as it was previously planned for this month, shall get delayed. However, fans are hoping that it is not a big delay, and in less than a month they will get access to a new experience of Ellie’s adventure.
The developers have further revealed good news which says that they are almost done with the development of The Last of Us Sequel Part II. They are currently just fixing some of the final bugs. But however, even if they finish the game, they still have to face problems with the reality because of which the logistics are beyond their control, and as a result of which they couldn’t launch The Last of Us Part II as per their convenience and satisfaction. The developers further added that all they want to ensure is that their fans get to play The Last of Us Part II around the same time and for that they ate doing every possible thing to give the best experience to everyone awaiting the release. What this actually meant by delaying the game is that players have to time until such a time where they can resolve the logistic issues.
