This year’s Nobel Prize nomination has come up with some unique nominations including some of the warriors from WHO and its COVAX program.

The US President Donald Trump, Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, and environmental activist Greta Thunberg and many others are nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The Reuters survey of Norwegian lawmakers has a record of picking the winners. According to it, this year’s nominees are different as the Global pandemic has been a great issue last year.

Numerous people including some of the members from the parliaments can suggest or propose candidates from any region.

However, the nominations are not approved by the Nobel Committee.

The candidates have been selected by a five-member Norwegian Committee which is appointed by the Parliament of Norway.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee does not reveal or comment on the nominations. They have been keeping the names secret of nominators and unsuccessful nominees for 50 years.

However, the nominators can choose to reveal the nominations if they want to. Greta Thunberg has been nominated as "the foremost spokespeople in the fight against the climate crisis" with her campaigning group, Fridays for Future.

Alexei Navalny has been nominated for his efforts for the peaceful democratization of Russia. He has been nominated by Russian academics.

Some of the other nominations are Belarusian activists Maria Kolesnikova, SviatlanaTsikhanouskaya, and Veronika Tsepkalo for their inspiration fight for election.

Nominator GeirSigbjoernToskedal told Reuters their "fight for a fair election and inspiration for peaceful resistance" has a huge influence.

This year’s nominations have emphasized the theme of Freedom of information.

As a result, many news and media platforms have been chosen as well like former Charlie Hebdo journalist Zineb El Rhazoui, Paris-based Reporters without Borders (RSF), US-based Committee to Protect Journalists, and many others.

Some of the other nominees are the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) and NATO.
