The Dota 2 Internationals is reportedly removing the mention of Tiananmen Square and Winnie the Pooh by penalizing their fans. Those who mention it are being hit with a timeout from the chat.

The Tiananmen Square in China was made infamous in 1989 after the government’s suppression of the student-led protests there to reform it. The most popular image regarding the scenario named as the Tank Man sees a working man with rolled-up white sleeves carrying grocery bags stopping the row of rolling tanks from People’s Liberation Army to move forward in their tracks.

As a first time offense, a person will have to face a five-minute timeout where they can’t access the Twitch stream. Along with this, other words can also invite such penalties. The use of number 911 is also flagged since it is closely associated with the United States.

The Dota 2 International Twitch Stream Bans will only fuel the ongoing fume between the two countries, United States and China and can lead them to a trade war which can have serious repercussions on the rest of the world.

Some users have reported that mentioning Winnie Pooh has resulted in getting them banned since the Disney character has high resemblance to the Chinese president Xi Jimping.

China has always imposed strict rules on imported games, but surprisingly for this version of the stream, Valve has partnered with the Shanghai Government to make the Dota 2 International 2019 happen.

The report says that Valve is not directly involved with the deal; rather the responsibility has been shifted to the Chinese company Perfect World. Perfect World had previously worked with Valve to bring Doto to China and back in 2016 to bring CS: GO to China.

However, the Chinese Government has remained tight-lipped on the alleged bans and no such statement has been given either by Valve or Perfect World to support the issue. The Doto 2 International 2019 is expected to hit the surface on August 20 till August 25 in Shanghai. The game has come a long way in terms of the prize money since its initial prize pool of $16milion to this year’s &33million, with the winner taking home $15million.
